A graceful figure slowly approached, her steps light and her skirt fluttering gently.
Commander Li hurriedly patted Mo Yun on the shoulder and rattled off a warning. "The young lady's coming. Little Mo, don't go saying anything out of turn and upsetting her. I'll wait for you outside."
With that, he turned and left in a hurry, as though he didn't want to stay even a moment longer.
Mo Yun stood stiffly where he was, staring blankly at Commander Li's rapidly retreating back.
Just then, a clear, pleasant voice sounded beside him, carrying a hint of coolness, like a mountain spring flowing over stone.

Mo Yun was instantly mortified. His toes clawed furiously at the ground, nearly digging out an entire mansion with three successive courtyards.
He gave an awkward chuckle and turned around rather stiffly.
