Ch. 1781Dao Marks Surged, the Spirit Vine Secretly Rejoiced
Plot points and events
- Yun Zhongzi learns of Lin Tian’s ambition to challenge the Saints and recognizes him as a great benefactor. He agrees to join Jiejiao, though he leaves the question of becoming a Deputy Leader to Zhen Yuanzi and Lin Tian.
- Lin Tian asks Yun Zhongzi and Zhen Yuanzi to guard Golden Turtle Island. They discuss Guang Chengzi’s Pangu Banner: its power is immense, but Guang Chengzi is expected to need decades to recover from using it. Lin Tian intends to take the banner once he emerges from seclusion.
- Lin Tian captures nearly a thousand Great Unity Golden Immortals from Chi Jingzi’s cultivation grounds, drawing them into a small world. He then returns to cultivate, consuming the medicines Holy Mother Wudang has gathered.
- In the Western Hall, Jieyin and Zhunti despair that the Scripture-Seeking Party has fallen under Lin Tian’s influence and that Golden Cicada may never reach Spirit Mountain. Jieyin places his hopes in Dao Ancestor Hongjun, who knows of events but remains indifferent as long as heavenly destiny continues normally.
- Over the following year, Lin Tian’s reputation brings countless applicants to Jiejiao. The sect grows to a million disciples, while its members spread throughout the Primordial Land. The Demon Race’s Six Great Sages settle on Penglai Island and enjoy the protection and status Lin Tian’s rise has brought them.
- After cultivating for fifteen million years in the Creation Dao Field, Lin Tian reaches the late Great Encompassing Golden Immortal stage. He has comprehended 236 great Dao laws and refined the Twelve Ancestral Witches’ essence blood, strengthening his body to the level of a houtian supreme treasure. He emerges from seclusion and summons the Twelve Dutian Baleful God Banners.
Character developments and interactions
- Yun Zhongzi moves from astonishment at Lin Tian’s ambition to gratitude and commitment, joining Jiejiao. His caution about Lin Tian’s plan to seize the Pangu Banner highlights how audacious Lin Tian appears even to his allies.
- Zhen Yuanzi welcomes Yun Zhongzi and offers him a leadership role, then joins him in guarding the island.
- Lin Tian shifts from prolonged cultivation to readiness for action, having strengthened both his Dao comprehension and physical body. His confidence and ambition remain central to his character.
- Jieyin and Zhunti are increasingly desperate over the threatened Buddhist plan. Jieyin turns to Hongjun as their last hope, while Zhunti’s distress becomes physically overwhelming.
- Hongjun remains detached: he observes the crisis but prioritizes the continued operation of heavenly destiny over the fortunes of the Buddhist Sect.
