Although the God of Speed had done everything he could to defend against Demon Emperor Daochen's attacks, he had still carelessly taken several hits.
More importantly, nothing the God of Speed said stirred any desire in Demon Emperor Daochen.
The only reason he had not finished off the God of Speed yet was that he wanted to see whether this fellow could make himself any stronger.
As Demon Emperor Daochen continued testing him, the God of Speed trembled all over. Suddenly, he fell to his knees. "Spare me... I was wrong, I really was! I don't want to die. I'm still young. I don't want to die!"
Demon Emperor Daochen looked at his spineless display and shook his head helplessly.
"Some things are beyond my control. When you do something wrong, you must pay the corresponding price. Since you decided to betray me, you must bear the consequences of that betrayal."
"I caught up with you today only to fulfill my promise. Now it's time for you to face the consequences."
Suddenly, the God of Speed darted away, his body splitting into three parts that fled in three different directions.
These were not doppelgangers. He had truly divided his body into three pieces, with his head attached to the uppermost part.
The middle section consisted of the area below his chest and above his waist.
The final section was a pair of legs sprinting away.
Who knew what ability this fellow had cultivated? Even individual pieces of his body were lively and moved extremely fast.
He fled in three directions, leaving even the Demon Emperor momentarily bewildered, unsure which one to pursue.
Clearly, whichever one he chased, the others would escape.
An energy net appeared between the Demon Emperor's hands, and he cast it out like the net of justice.
