Kesailin's face darkened. The fellow before her was utterly hateful, deliberately picking at her scars.
But she could do little about him.
"Celestial Person, that isn't something you should be concerned about. What you should be considering is whether you'll make it back alive this time."
Kesailin looked at him with a hint of mockery.
He still had no idea how dangerous this operation was.
In truth, he had never wanted to come, but after the failure of the last mission, their leader was already deeply displeased. If he did not put in some effort now, he feared he really would be stripped of his position as an Ancient God.
At their level, they valued their positions as Ancient Gods above everything else.
Only after enduring so much slaughter had they understood how hard-won those positions were.
He no longer had any ambition to climb higher. He knew that the legendary position was simply beyond his reach.
Among these Void Ancient Gods, perhaps only one or two had the qualifications and luck for it.
And he certainly was not among those one or two.
Celestial Person laughed. "Don't worry. As long as you aren't the one attacking me, I'll be perfectly safe."
It had to be said that this fellow had quite a good attitude.
Suddenly, Celestial Person turned toward the last Void Ancient God beside them. This fellow had not spoken once throughout the journey. "Insect God, say something, will you? This journey is so boring."
A swarm of insects buzzed. The Ancient God seemed to have made a sound, yet also seemed not to have.
But Celestial Person appeared to understand. "You say you aren't bored? You're having a wonderful time playing with your insects? You're such a freak. Why do you like insects so much?"
