The Lord of Extreme Cold hid off to one side, watching what the Demon Emperor did.
He seethed with hatred until his teeth ached.
He had never imagined that a treasure almost within his grasp would simply vanish.
He was also deeply displeased with that member of the Mechanical Race. This fellow called Star River Number Seven had actually delivered himself to their doorstep, right into the jaws of his mortal enemy. Wasn't that just courting death?
There was also something he could not fathom, no matter how he puzzled over it. He had never encountered either the Mechanical Race or the pureblood human race.
Yet legends of these two races had indeed spread throughout all of Chaos.
He remembered a saying from back then: the day the Mechanical Race returned would be the day Chaos fell silent once more.
It spoke of the danger posed by the Mechanical Race, but why had this one been nowhere near as formidable as he had imagined?
As for the Demon Emperor, he was even harder to understand. This fellow's true form was clearly a Three-Legged Golden Crow, so how could he possess the bloodline of the pureblood human race?
He felt that many things had strayed completely beyond his understanding.
He had initially been somewhat wary of the Mechanical Race. He had held back from using his full strength against this one from the outset, fearing some hidden trick that might threaten him.
But clearly, this race that was supposedly an unimaginably grave threat...
Was not powerful at all.
Had he known, he would have unleashed everything he had to kill him.
But now, regret was useless.
The Lord of Extreme Cold quietly backed away. He had to find the Four Little Sages now. Unreliable though those four fellows were, their strength
