But Heaven always left a way out. The Demon Emperor remained perfectly composed, showing no sign of worry.
The giant serpent King Anan had transformed into hissed, as though summoning something.
Just then, countless little snakes emerged from the giant serpent's mouth and burrowed straight into the hole the Demon Emperor had broken open.
The Demon Emperor watched the scene in puzzlement.
"Your Highness, even you can't withstand this fluid. Surely those little snakes can't either!"
A sharp gleam flashed through King Anan's eyes. "Don't be impatient. These snakes are no ordinary creatures. They are doppelgangers I have refined for many years, impervious to blades and spears, untouched by water or fire. I have yet to encounter anything that can harm them."
The Golden Sacred Dragon King, who had been dozing, suddenly cried out in alarm. "Damn it! What's burrowing into my body?"
He abruptly thrust a dragon claw at a spot on his chest, tearing open a huge hole with a single strike.
He ripped away a chunk of dragon meat.
Countless little snakes fell along with it.
The little snakes fled in every direction.
The Golden Sacred Dragon King froze, then immediately realized who had acted.
"King Anan, your methods are so bizarre. It seems I won't be able to eat you."
Helplessly, he hammered his stomach, and a surge of power immediately erupted from it.
King Anan, the Demon Emperor, and the others were enveloped in gastric fluid. Under the crushing force, their entire bodies were swept into a passage. The Demon Emperor shielded Scarlet Feather beside him, and they were squeezed through the passage together before being spat out of the Golden Sacred Dragon King's mouth.
Once they landed and looked around, they found that almost everyone else had been reduced to a pile of bones.
