Hearing Laozi's question, Shentu seemed to have turned into a fool, offering no response at all.
At that moment, Shentu had yet to grasp what was happening.
How could a mere Ghost Sage like him have enough allure to draw so many Sages here?
Was Merit Power really that enticing?
To be honest, even though he possessed Merit Power, aside from greatly benefiting the growth of his cultivation, it was not actually of much use.
Laozi frowned at Shentu, who stood before him like a fool. "What is the meaning of this? Are you looking down on me?"
This fellow had actually remained unmoved when a Sage questioned him.
Shentu came to his senses and hurriedly waved his hands. "Honored Sages, I am only a humble Ghost Sage. I only recently obtained this method of acquiring Merit Power. Honored Sages, to whom should I give it?"
At that moment, Daochen stepped forward and looked coldly at the others. "This method was bestowed by heaven. Even if we do not know it now, we will eventually discover it through experimentation. Since that is the case, simply make it public. We will judge for ourselves whether we need to use it."
Once Daochen finished speaking, the Sages all nodded. Everyone's time was precious, and naturally, they could not waste it here.
Jieyin and Zhunti wanted to weep but had no tears. They had never imagined that these Sages would pay so much attention to the two of them. The benefits that had been almost within their grasp now had to be shared with so many others.
Shentu felt helpless. He had wanted to muddle through a little. What if everyone started fighting over him? He would surely reap some benefits then.
Now, however, he saw that Sages were not so easily fooled.
