Shennong was helpless about this matter as well. In his view, although the surrender of these devils was a good thing, it was nowhere near as straightforward as killing them.
However, that was only something he could say. If they really killed them all,
it would probably provoke a full-scale backlash from the Devil Race.
Shennong pondered carefully, trying to find a way to satisfy both sides.
Just then, he suddenly slapped his forehead.
"Your Majesty, Human Sovereign, I have an idea, though I don't know whether it makes sense."
"These devils want a piece of land to live on. That's impossible. After all, even our Human Race's territory isn't very large."
"But the Primordial World has now suffered through the demon tide, and many races have been completely swallowed by history."
"The lands of those races no longer serve any purpose. Of course, we can't simply hand them over to these devils."
"But we can bring them all under the Human Race's banner."
"Bring them under the Human Path."
"And then reallocate territory to every race, including the Human Race, according to the size of their contributions."
"Of course, we would only have the right to use these territories, not ownership of the land. That way, the entire Primordial World would become the land of the Human Path."
A glint of greed flashed in Shennong's eyes.
His idea was rather terrifying.
He wanted to seize all the land.
What was the Human Path, really? Wasn't it simply the Human Race's Great Dao? They would bring all the land under their banner, then lease it out.
In the future, the Human Race might very well nibble away at the entire Primordial World, step by step.
This was no joke. There was a very real chance of it happening.
At least
