Leaving the others there to clear away the terrifying Resentment Aggregates, he moved on.
Daochen flew into the depths of Chaos.
This time, he intended to act alone and see whether he could draw out something he wanted to meet.
Under everyone's astonished gazes, Daochen shattered the Resentment Aggregates with a single punch apiece, then broke through their encirclement.
Clearly, however, these things remained difficult to kill even after they had been smashed apart.
But his goal was not to kill as many Resentment Aggregates as possible. It was to break out of the encirclement.
He moved incredibly fast, yet even so, it took him more than ten days to break through their ring.
Looking at these ghastly things, Daochen suddenly sighed.
It seemed the Demon Race would have to remain stationed in Chaos. With so many Resentment Aggregates, they probably could not clear them all away without spending ten thousand years or more.
As he broke through, however, he discovered something unexpected: these things seemed to pay him little attention, fixing their eyes instead on that tiny fissure in Chaos.
These creatures seemed to harbor some grudge against the Demon Race. They actually ignored Daochen altogether.
This puzzled Daochen greatly, but then he remembered that the formation relied on the Primordial World. Could they think that barrier was easier to breach?
On closer reflection, that really was possible.
After all, though these creatures were powerful, they had little intelligence. Daochen did not think even the ones directing them from behind the scenes possessed much intelligence.
They were merely the revived resentment of corpses and could not even be considered alive. If the Primordial World were destroyed, these things would vanish with it.
The existence of the Primordial World was, in a sense, the very foundation of their existence.
