The cloud genin who had entered a berserk state had completely abandoned all thought, leaving only the instinct to destroy.

He opened his mouth and spat a blue fireball the size of a washbasin at Hoshi, then launched himself at Hoshi with a leap from his hind legs.

Not only had that slash failed to seriously injure his opponent, it had instead stirred up his ferocity.

He turned around and swung his one remaining arm powerfully at Hoshi's face, forcing Hoshi to hurriedly raise his blade to block.

The blade clearly stopped the man's claws, but the gust stirred up by them still made Hoshi's cheeks sting.

Hoshi secretly counted himself fortunate. Good thing he'd chopped off one of the man's arms beforehand. Otherwise, if the guy followed up with another slap, there would have been nowhere for him to dodge.
