When Liu Changxu arrived on Red Lotus Island aboard the Black Feather Boat with seventy-three clan members, everyone was immediately stunned by the island's beautiful scenery and declared that they wanted to settle down there.
Just then, Liu Changxu remembered that he had yet to search the Ironback Crocodiles' Underwater Cave Abode!
So he briefly explained his plans to Li Zhenxin and Lian'er, left them a few instructions, then plunged toward the lake bottom. He soon found the Ironback Crocodile Clan's cluster of underwater caves.
With the Ironback Crocodile Clan either dead or scattered in flight, the cluster of caves was utterly quiet.
Liu Changxu first entered the largest cave, which appeared to belong to the upper-grade second-tier Ironback Crocodile leader.
The cave was wide and deep, its walls studded with sparkling jade. Most of it was ordinary mortal jade, however, and of little use to Liu Changxu.
After swimming three li inward, he reached the water's edge. He emerged and walked another li or so before finally reaching the end of the cave. This chamber was so lofty and spacious that it could no longer be called a mere cave, but a cave abode.
The first thing that caught Liu Changxu's eye was the large chunks of colorful jade embedded in the walls. Although most were first-tier spirit jade, a small portion was exceedingly precious second-tier spirit jade.
Next, on a pale red Warm Jade Bed several zhang across, lay two blue giant eggs, each a foot in size. They appeared to have been freshly laid by the upper-grade second-tier Ironback Crocodile.
Finally, a jade hollow one zhang across held a pool of milky-white spirit water suffused with a faint, jade-like glow. Liu Changxu recognized it at a glance as the Jade Marrow Spirit Liquid renowned throughout the cultivation
