By now, Liu Changxu had mastered the art of brewing Five-Element Ascension Soup. Although the ingredients he used differed slightly each time, the quality of the finished soup remained much the same.
This was because Liu Changxu thoroughly understood the fundamental principles of spirit cuisine and always prepared it according to the balance of the yin-yang five elements.
The Five-Element Ascension Soup brewed this way was clear and richly fragrant, with an endlessly lingering flavor!
In fact, the principles of spirit cuisine were essentially the same as those of pill refinement. Eating spirit cuisine could likewise improve cultivation and strengthen the body. In essence, it was a kind of pill, only somewhat less effective.
However, spirit cuisine had one outstanding advantage over pills: eating it carried no risk of pill poison. This was another important reason Liu Changxu favored it.
The ingredients Liu Changxu had prepared for today's third-tier Five-Element Ascension Soup were, in fact, very different from those used in his original third-tier Five-Element Ascension Soup.
There was no helping it. Most of the third-tier ingredients he had on hand had been obtained after his arrival in the Southern Sea. He therefore had to work out a suitable new combination, using third-tier spirit medicinal herbs and spirit fruit wherever the balance was lacking.
Once Liu Changxu poured the spirit spring water into the pot, he officially began brewing the Five-Element Ascension Soup.
First, Liu Changxu placed the meaty bones of third-tier great monsters, including a Golden-Horned Sea Ox and a Cloud-Swallowing Python, into the pot one after another to blanch them, adding several spirit medicinal herbs that could remove unpleasant odors.
