The Witch Clan of Ancient Times could not use magic power.
That was because they had been born amid earth turbid qi.
The pure, spiritual qi that immortals excelled at using was utterly incompatible with their bloodlines.
Thus, they could not accumulate magic power.
Instead, they absorbed the power of earth turbid qi.
Earth turbid qi, however, did not readily appear in gaseous form.
In that respect, it differed from a gaseous substance like spiritual qi.
Strictly speaking, earth turbid qi was solid.
It was an extremely pure solid that existed within the veins of the earth!
It was like sand and stone that could flow.
However, when the Ancestral Witches-or rather, the members of the Witch Clan-absorbed this power...
Their own power resonated with the veins of the earth.
This caused earth turbid qi to turn gaseous.
It then entered their bodies.
Once earth turbid qi entered a witch's body...
It triggered a fierce, violent reaction.
How could sand and stone possibly survive inside a person's body?
There were only two possibilities.
One was that the person could not withstand it and died.
The other was that the person withstood it and assimilated the sand and stone-or was assimilated by those foreign substances!
That was how the Witch Clan worked: the power of the earth tore their bodies apart, and they recovered again and again, using that same power to fuel both their recovery and their energy needs.
Thus, their bodies grew stronger!
Of course, this also had something to do with the portion of Great God Pangu's bloodline they possessed.
But not much.
It just happened to be particularly important.
To the Witch Clan, their bloodline was itself an extremely important source of power.
And it could evolve continuously.
Over the years...
Several theories had arisen in succession
