He knew a thing or two about surviving.
After entering the woods, Lin Yi found two century-old trees, then spent several hours building a simple shelter in them with branches and other materials from nearby.
"Done!" Lin Yi said, clapping his hands. "It's a bit crude, though. We might even get soaked if it rains."
Lan Xin did not know whether to laugh or cry. "At least you realize that."
"How about this, junior sister? Stay here for now. I'll find a town and buy some materials to fix it up properly. I'll bring you something to eat, too," Lin Yi told her.
Lan Xin chuckled. "I want roast chicken!"
"No problem!" Lin Yi left as he spoke.
Left alone in the woods, Lan Xin was rather bored.
She got up and went outside, gazing at Heavenly City from afar. Perhaps it was because she had already seen the corpses strewn everywhere inside, but the place now seemed inexplicably eerie.
She kept feeling that even the sky above it was steeped in a sinister chill.
Lan Xin hugged her arms and shivered. Just as she was about to go back, the rear gate seemed to open.
She thought someone nearby had gone to provoke Ning Bai, but she could not see that area from here, so she hurriedly used her lightness skill to fly over.
Yet there was no one nearby. The only person coming out of Heavenly City was Ning Bai.
He still looked the same, like a walking corpse, dragging that enormous sword in his hand.
The moment he saw Lan Xin, Ning Bai grew wary.
"Wait!" Lan Xin immediately told him. "I thought someone was approaching this place, so I came to take a look. I mean no harm, and I don't want to enter the city."
