"So... Di Qi has already reached the final stage?"
Yog-Sothoth shook the silver halos that kept dancing around his body, most of his processing power occupied with calculating certain things that were not particularly suitable to know just yet.
He simply refrained from calculating the answer directly and, for once, actually asked a question.
"Correct. Di Qi's current condition stems from the fact that he previously established only a basic connection with this world. The rules of the law he actually commands still belong to my former world."
The Mysterious Lord sat impassively on his throne, an octahedral mirror spinning continuously in his hand.
"He has now completed all the steps required to become a Great Old One. All that remains is to transform the law he commands into a form suited to this world he has come to know."
"That will more or less settle it."
In just a few sentences, the Mysterious Lord explained Di Qi's current condition.
In truth, Di Qi's actual species had already changed.
Originally a mixed-blood Golden Crow, he had fought by relying on the Sun Law he innately commanded.
On the surface, this did not appear to weaken his combat capabilities at all.
But that castrated version of the Sun Law from the Primordial World, perfected in the Mysterious Lord's intermediary world, could not be replenished in this world!
So, theoretically speaking, if Ithaqua had not been careless back then, if he had not indulged in all those convoluted, bizarre displays of adolescent melodrama...
If he had instead chosen to drag things out, using his abundant experience and power to exhaust Di Qi's already rather limited demigod-level Sun Law power...
Once Di Qi's Sun Law power, which this world could not replenish, ran dry, wouldn't Ithaqua have been able to toy with him
