To be honest, several of Old Dream's books flopped over the past two years. This one has done relatively well, and it is also my first time writing xianxia. I did jump on a trend, and I admit that. But readers who have followed the story this far should be able to tell that this book is a little different from other stories about overhearing inner thoughts. It leans more toward portraying a giant panda's leisurely daily life, rather than overturning heaven and earth at the drop of a hat or listening endlessly to people's thoughts. As for the characters, I do not think I have made anyone suddenly lose their intelligence-unless their established character was never particularly bright to begin with. That is not something I can change.

As for abilities, I took inspiration from comments readers left on other books about overhearing inner thoughts, such as, "Wouldn't sages have the power to read minds?" I mentioned the "Mind-Listening Technique" in the story. I actually noted that term down while watching Ancient Love Poetry, though immortals in quite a few mythological dramas have this ability. I thought the Great Powers of the Primordial World ought to have it too, so I included it. Gungun has it as well, as everyone should already know.

My view on overhearing inner thoughts is this: Great Powers definitely have that ability! But having an ability and choosing to use it are two different things. Also, to make Houtu's ability to hear Gungun's inner thoughts more special, I gave Gungun a Law of Silence. I do
