The Asura Religion was also known as the Lesser Vehicle Demon Teaching. Back during the Dao-Demon War, after Luo Hou's defeat, many of his Demon Generals had fled to the Sea of Blood and entered River Styx's service. Since they were all high-ranking officers, River Styx had treated them very well.
This was also part of the reason the Asura Religion's later doctrines so closely resembled those of the Demon Teaching.

The palace was pitch-black, with faint, sinister light seeping from it, giving it an ominous air.
