Li Shimin began to dream.
In this dream, he saw countless wandering ghosts packed into a dense mass, charging toward him with savage expressions.
"Li Shimin, give me back my life!"
"You left me unable to reincarnate! Once you die, Li Shimin, I'll kill you for sure!"
"Hahaha! You're doomed, Li Shimin!"

"You have suffered a fright, Your Majesty. This humble king has come." King Yama spoke with a smile.
Looking at King Yama before him, Li Shimin slowly recovered, though he remained terrified.
But no one noticed the sharp gleam that flashed through Li Shimin's eyes.
Although he had been badly frightened earlier, the instant he recovered, he sensed that something was wrong.
As an emperor, Li Shimin might have lacked magical power or cultivation, but when it came to reading people's hearts and navigating the intricacies of political maneuvering, he was far more capable than most.
