Ch. 941The God King Descended!
Plot points and events
- Bai Qi overwhelms the Greed Demon Venerable, then faces both Greed and Slaughter Demon Venerables at once. Though their combined attacks nearly destroy him, he escapes by dissolving into spiritual mist.
- Bai Qi races into the Primordial World and devastates it. He annihilates the Heavenly Court and destroys major sacred sites—including Kunlun, Mount Sumeru, Spirit Mountain, and the Four Seas—while the Greed and Slaughter Demon Venerables fail to catch him.
- Heavenly Venerable Divine Moth confronts Bai Qi with her “Heavenly Net,” which is especially effective against him. The two Demon Venerables arrive, trapping Bai Qi between them.
- A mysterious strike frees Bai Qi. Its source is the Taixu God King, who then captures Divine Moth and both Demon Venerables with a single gesture.
- Rather than kill his prisoners, Taixu says he wants to use them to challenge the returning Purple Firmament God King. Bai Qi asks permission to execute them and claims the Innate God Realm belongs to them; Taixu rebukes him for presuming to speak with his authority.
Character developments and interactions
- Bai Qi grows more confident as his power rises, showing no restraint toward ordinary cultivators. His ability to move wherever spiritual energy exists makes him exceptionally difficult to intercept. His eagerness to kill the prisoners—and claim the realm—also reveals ambition that Taixu does not accept.
- Greed and Slaughter Demon Venerables cooperate against Bai Qi but cannot stop his rampage. They later struggle unsuccessfully against Taixu’s overwhelming power.
- Divine Moth risks herself to halt Bai Qi, then joins the Demon Venerables in retreat. Captured by Taixu, she openly mocks his reliance on stolen cultivation and sneaky attacks.
- Taixu God King demonstrates near-total control over his captives and appears to be using them as leverage against the Purple Firmament God King. His sharp reprimand of Bai Qi hints at tension over authority and loyalty.
- The chapter’s key confrontations shift from Bai Qi versus the Demon Venerables, to Divine Moth’s intervention, and finally to Taixu’s capture of all three.
Significant themes
- Power and impunity: Bai Qi treats overwhelming strength as permission to slaughter the weak.
- Destruction and collateral harm: The conflict lays waste to the Primordial World while civilians and cultivators remain in danger.
- Power versus legitimacy: Divine Moth challenges Taixu’s claim to the title of God King, while Taixu questions Bai Qi’s assumption of authority.
- Shifting loyalties and hidden ambitions: The final exchange suggests that even apparent allies may disagree over who controls their victory.
