Early morning, at the Hyuga Clan compound.
Hyuga Hiashi was having breakfast with his family. With the Hyuga Clan's many rules and strict household discipline, no one made a sound during the meal. It was like watching a silent film.
Seated farther down the table was an adorable little girl with short hair and white eyes. She huddled there like a timid quail, eating in tiny bites and occasionally stealing a glance at Hyuga Hiashi at the head of the table.
When Hyuga Hiashi finished eating and set his bowl and chopsticks on the table, the little girl hastily put hers down as well and said quickly, in a small voice, "I'm finished."
Hyuga Hiashi looked at his eldest daughter and frowned slightly. She had been timid since childhood, especially around him, where she behaved even more like a quail. He had no idea whom she took after, or how he was supposed to place her at the head of the Main Family someday.
She was his daughter, after all. If she were assigned to the Branch Family in the future and branded with the Caged Bird Seal on her forehead, there was no telling how badly she would be bullied.
Seeing that Hinata Hyuga had finished eating, Hyuga Hiashi nodded expressionlessly and said, "Rest for half an hour first, then begin your morning training."
At his words, Hinata Hyuga hurriedly stood up and said, "Yes, Father."
Hyuga Hiashi glanced at Hinata again, then left the dining room to handle some clan affairs.
Only after seeing her father leave did Hinata Hyuga relax and breathe a sigh of relief. She hurriedly said goodbye to her mother and returned to her room. After all, the upcoming training session would include an assessment, so she had better get some more practice in.
