Hyuga Hiashi considered the matter for a long time before saying to Shin Uchiha:
"Shin, both of us hold important positions within our clans. We have to consider whether our every word and action might negatively affect them.
And your proposal was far too sudden. Please give me some time to think it over. Once I've reached a decision, I'll come to you with my answer."
After saying this, Hyuga Hiashi reassured him, "But rest assured, Shin. My answer will definitely be good news."
Shin Uchiha nodded in understanding. In truth, he had already prepared himself for this before coming. Something like this could hardly be settled in a single visit.
Still, judging by Hyuga Hiashi's attitude, it was all but settled. He simply needed to consider every aspect carefully before agreeing on the spot.
Just as Shin Uchiha was about to take his leave, Hyuga Hiashi extended an invitation:
"Shin, it's time for my daughter's training and assessment. Would you like to watch?"
Shin Uchiha hesitated at the invitation, then asked, "Wouldn't it be presumptuous of me? Might it involve some of the Hyuga Clan's secret techniques?"
Hyuga Hiashi smiled and shook his head. "How could children's training involve our clan's secrets? Besides, we'll soon be family. As long as it doesn't involve the Hyuga Clan's core secret techniques, you're welcome to see it."
Hearing Hyuga Hiashi's hint once again, Shin Uchiha nodded. "Since you've invited me, I'll be shameless enough to take a look."
Then, with Hyuga Hiashi leading the way, Shin Uchiha headed to Hinata Hyuga's training grounds.
The Hyuga Clan's kekkei genkai was the Byakugan, inherited from Hamura Otsutsuki, the younger brother of the Sage of Six Paths. Over the generations, however, the Byakugan had lost much of its power and mainly served a supporting role.
