Shin Uchiha stayed in Kirigakure for a few more days, waiting until Mei Terumi had completed her inauguration as Mizukage before preparing to leave.
It was late at night in the Mizukage Building, on Mei Terumi's first day as Mizukage.
Besides holding a ceremony to give the villagers of Kirigakure a proper account of the transition, she had also needed to meet the heads of every department, as well as the Kirigakure Anbu, who answered directly to the Mizukage.

"I may be the Mizukage of Kirigakure now, but I'm also your woman, Shin."
Shin Uchiha held Mei Terumi on his lap, but his smile gradually faded. Reluctantly, he said:
"Mei, I'm planning to leave in the next few days. After all, I'm also the Clan Leader of the Uchiha Clan. I have responsibilities of my own, and I can't stay here forever.
