A faint smile touched Shin Uchiha's lips at Tsunade's words. Gazing out over all of Konoha, he said:
"Tsunade, have Nawaki get ready to take part in these Chunin Ninja Exams. Once the exams are over, a lot of people's fates will change."
At his words, Tsunade seemed to remember something. She fixed her eyes on Shin and asked:
"Shin, I heard Sasuke will leave Konoha after these Chunin Ninja Exams and return to the Uchiha District to train in seclusion. Is that true?"
Shin Uchiha was not surprised that Tsunade knew about this. He nodded and said:
"That's right. After all, Sasuke is one of the Children of Prophecy, and the reincarnation of someone whose name cannot be spoken. If we want him to be of any use on the battlefield four years from now, our only choice is to put him through the clan's brutal, rigorous training."
At that, Shin Uchiha turned toward Tsunade and said, his gaze gentle:
"Tsunade, you should know that every clan that has endured through the generations has its own unique training methods. The Ino-Shika-Cho Clans are the perfect example."
A trace of nostalgia flickered in Tsunade's eyes at Shin's words. The Senju Clan she had once belonged to had its own heritage, just like the Uchiha Clan.
However, after Konoha was founded, the Senju Clan had effectively disbanded and integrated into the village.
For all Tobirama Senju's mastery of administration and Ninjutsu, he had also been capable of running circles around the Uchiha Clan.
Yet perhaps he had been influenced by his older brother, Hashirama Senju, or perhaps his vision had simply been broader. His convictions had never centered on the Senju Clan,
so he had followed Hashirama Senju's wishes, breaking up the entire Senju Clan and integrating its members into Konoha.
