By then, Shin Uchiha, who already held Kurenai Yuhi tightly in his arms, had lowered his head slightly and buried his nose in the crook of her neck, savoring her scent.
Sensing what Shin Uchiha was doing, a hint of smugness flashed in Kurenai Yuhi's eyes. Though her face was still flushed, she could not help reaching out with both hands and wrapping her arms around his back.
Only after breathing in her scent for quite a while did Shin Uchiha lift his head. He kissed Kurenai Yuhi gently on the cheek, then asked:
"Kurenai, how long have you been here?"
At Shin Uchiha's question, Kurenai Yuhi smiled and answered softly:
"Hmm, I only just got here. When I found you weren't inside, I guessed you'd be here."
Kurenai Yuhi knew Shin Uchiha quite well. She knew he liked spending time alone somewhere with an open view, and the rooftop of this stone tower fit that description perfectly. That was why she had come looking for him here.
Hearing Kurenai Yuhi's words, Shin Uchiha paused briefly. Then he gently brushed a finger over her pert nose and said with a smile:
"You're pretty clever."
And so, for the rest of their time there, Shin Uchiha held Kurenai Yuhi on the rooftop while admiring the distant scenery. The faint sounds drifting over from afar did nothing to disturb them.
Some time later, a distinctly impatient voice suddenly came from behind them:
"Hah, I don't even know how many times I've been running back and forth outside, and here you two are, getting all lovey-dovey. Have you no shame?"
Upon hearing that voice, Kurenai Yuhi immediately sprang out of Shin Uchiha's arms and turned toward its source, her face bright red.
