The Elder studied Shin Uchiha's expression again. He knew that, at Shin Uchiha's age, love mattered more than life itself.
Besides, having accomplished so much at such a young age, Shin Uchiha was bound to feel proud, and proud people hated nothing more than being told what to do.
So whenever the subject came up, the Elder was rather careful about how he spoke to him.
Seeing no impatience on Shin Uchiha's face, the Elder continued, "These are all minor matters. They aren't enough to shake the foundations of our Uchiha Clan. Besides, the entire clan will be moving to Whirlpool Island soon, and meeting people outside the clan won't be easy then."
The Elder, Uchiha Ling, looked Shin Uchiha in the eye, his expression turning solemn.
"The real reason I called you here today is something you've probably already guessed, given how smart you are. You're the strongest member of your generation in our clan, as well as its greatest genius. Your talent has even surpassed Madara Uchiha's.
"And you're different from ordinary Uchiha. Ever since you were little, you've known to keep a low profile and hide your abilities. If any other clan member had achieved even half of what you have, they would have turned the Uchiha Clan and Konoha upside down by now. Yet you don't have that arrogance. That's another reason I think so highly of you."
"The fact that you awakened the Mangekyo, and that your Dōjutsu is far stronger than ordinary Mangekyo Dōjutsu, proves that the Uchiha blood running through your veins is exceptionally pure. It may even surpass that of Uchiha Fugaku's lineage."
"So I hope you'll find a girl from our Uchiha Clan to carry on your bloodline. If you have children with a woman from another clan, your Uchiha blood
