Blackflame visibly faltered in midair, a trace of confusion flashing through his dark red, slit-pupiled eyes. Something seemed to have touched him just now. Only when he saw the bolt falling away did he realize he had been attacked. He let out an enraged roar, its sound waves leaving the people aboard the nearby ships dazed.

Then he unleashed a searing blast of dark red dragonfire, setting several nearby ships ablaze. The sailors caught in the dragonfire jumped overboard, only to sink beneath the sea.

Mazo's expression changed sharply. "How is that possible? We hit him, and he's completely unharmed." Had Braavos lied when they claimed their Scorpions had driven off the Valyrian Dragonlords?

He had no time to think it through.

King Ghidorah had already begun her first attack.

First, her left head unleashed a breath of bitterly cold Frost Breath. The blue torrent swept sideways through three warships sailing abreast, like the scythe of death.

The freezing sounds set teeth on edge. In an instant, the three warships and their sailors were coated in a thick layer of blue ice crystals. They froze upon the sea, locked in the poses they had held in life.

Immediately afterward, her right head spewed scorching dragonfire straight at four swift ships on the other side that were trying to turn. The dark red flames coiled around their hulls as though alive, instantly igniting everything that could burn.

The sails became billowing clouds of fire, and the masts charred and snapped in the intense heat. The sailors' screams were drowned out by the thunder of bursting hulls. Under the onslaught of the heat wave, the three frozen ships also burst apart, scattering ice crystals into the sea.
