Aegon watched Harlan turn his gaze toward Daemon, utterly oblivious to the danger, and nearly choked on his honeyed milk. He whipped his head toward Daemon across the table, his eyes signaling frantically-The man's practically begging to die, Uncle! Aren't you going to teach him a lesson? Is this really the Daemon Targaryen I know?

With the former Sealord of Braavos assassinated, the political marriage between this fellow and Laena had long since lost its value. His Sealord father was dead, yet even as a stray dog without a home, he was still grandstanding and courting death. If he didn't die, who would? It seemed Aegon wouldn't have to do anything himself. The man would most likely die by Daemon's sword, just as he had in the original story.

To be fair, it wasn't entirely Harlan's fault. At first glance, there seemed to be only two people at the table he could afford to provoke.

He paid no attention whatsoever to Aegon, who sat beside his fiancée Laena and his future mother-in-law Rhaenys, simply assuming he was one of the Velaryons' own.

Lyonel's appearance as a burly, bald man was far too intimidating. Daemon, on the other hand, had trimmed his hair and dressed with particular care, leaving Harlan-who had only met him a few times-unable to recognize him.

Unfortunately, Daemon seemed determined to sit back and enjoy the show tonight.

Not only did he make no move, he even raised an eyebrow at Aegon, as though he had already seen through something, then mouthed, "It'll be your turn soon. Will you put up with it then?"

But before Harlan could reach Daemon and pick a fight, and before Aegon could puzzle out what Daemon meant, Laena finally lost patience after enduring his nauseating peacock display for so long.
