The sheep's wool instantly curled and blackened in the heat, their fat sizzling as it roasted. A rich, charred aroma filled the air along the beach. In moments, more than a dozen sheep had become whole roasted carcasses, their surfaces browned and slightly scorched.

Vhagar drew back her dragonfire, lowered her head, and began to feast. The crunch of her teeth breaking sheep bones rang especially clearly across the quiet beach.
