The newly crowned "Pirate King," Daemon, and the former "Master of Nine Voyages," Corlys, returned in triumph once again-
Their "seafaring activities," inspired by Aegon to "champion justice," had brought them home with another full haul.
The celebratory feasts on Driftmark lasted several days. Cups passed back and forth, and Bards sang ballads praising the two new "legends of the sea" in the hall of High Tide, bringing the festivities to a perfect close.
And the "guests" under their command-
That was to say, the "pirate bands" operating with their permission, or, more bluntly, directly under the two men-departed the harbor aboard their great ships, thoroughly satisfied.
The sailors on the docks untied the mooring lines and pulled in the gangplanks. Sails filled with the winds of the Narrow Sea, and the ships vanished into the dusk one after another.
High Tide returned to its usual grandeur, as though none of it had ever happened.
But only a handful of people knew that the cargo ships laden with Myrish goods, Lysene silk, Tyroshi dyes, and all manner of spices were now being distributed through House Velaryon's merchant fleets. They sailed north and south along the Narrow Sea toward King's Landing, Gulltown, White Harbor, and even Oldtown and Lannisport on the far side of Westeros-"fencing the loot a second time."
Meanwhile, a great ship with seahorse-emblazoned sails, arguably the largest flagship in the harbor, lay moored beside the dock.
The tide lapped against its hull with a low, rhythmic echo, and the fresh black paint on its sides gleamed darkly in the sunlight.
