Doris crushed Pabric's heart without hesitation. An even stronger surge of pleasure flowed from her hand into her body, making her eyes roll back uncontrollably and her body tremble.
The other four Silver Wolf Society thugs dropped to their knees in terror and begged for mercy. "It had nothing to do with us! Henry ordered everything. We had no choice!"
Overwhelmed by bloodlust, Doris gave them no chance. In an instant, she claimed another four lives.
Blood-red markings now covered Doris's entire body, even her face, and her power level had reached an astonishing 430. Then she turned her ravenous gaze on Jiang Nan and walked toward him, step by step.
To Jiang Nan, Doris looked like a demon goddess emerging from hell, slowly approaching him with an overwhelming sense of menace.
"Doris! Doris!" Jiang Nan tried to bring her to her senses.
Doris had not actually lost awareness. She had merely entered a wondrous state she had never experienced before. She easily tore apart the specially made cuffs on Jiang Nan's wrists and ankles, then grabbed his collar and pulled him toward her.
Brutality, bloodlust, greed, lust-all manner of dark emotions surged from deep within Doris's heart. As Jiang Nan met her gaze, her eerie red eyes drew him in.
That single look was enough. As though bewitched, Jiang Nan's mind went completely blank.
Then an indescribable brutality and lust rose from the depths of his heart as well. He roughly tore Doris's clothes apart, while Doris eagerly wrapped her arms around him. Together, they fell onto the soft, rippling waterbed.
What followed was long and tedious. To avoid wasting the readers' time, it will not be described in further detail here.
By the time they came to their senses, it was well past midnight. The strange markings on Doris's body had vanished, and her eyes had returned to their original green. She nestled tightly in Jiang Nan's arms, savoring these last tender moments. The only blemish was the presence of several mutilated corpses in the room, which rather spoiled the mood.
"Jiang Nan, you're free from today onward. I'll tell Dr. Gero that the Silver Wolf Society killed you." There was reluctance in Doris's voice.
Jiang Nan's feelings were complicated. Doris was kindhearted and loyal, and staying at Dr. Gero's side would only waste the best years of her life. He asked her, "Why don't we leave together? We can leave North City, and you can finally live the free life you've always wanted!"
Longing appeared in Doris's eyes, followed by a flash of sorrow. "The doctor raised me. I can't abandon him. Please don't make this difficult for me."
Jiang Nan did not press her. He simply said, "Then give me some time. I'll come find you in North City."
Doris looked nervous, her harsh tone masking her unease. "Don't come. We must never see each other again. If I ever see you again, I'll kill you myself."
Jiang Nan remained silent, merely planning what he would do a few years from now.
Doris got out of bed and picked up the sapphire necklace from the floor, then gathered the clothes Jiang Nan had torn apart. After inspecting them, she went to the wardrobe, found a clean outfit, and put it on.
"Don't think I'll fall for you just because you've had my body. Don't flatter yourself. I might forget you in a few days. I'm leaving. Remember what I said, and never show your face before me again." Doris feigned coldness.
Jiang Nan did not answer. He could tell she did not mean what she said, but he was still far too weak and only burdened her at every turn. His fierce pride would not let him say anything more.
Doris walked out onto the terrace. The night was deep, moonlight reflected on the sea nearby, and the beach shimmered silver.
Just as Doris was about to leap away, she stopped. She gave Jiang Nan a long look and said, "Jiang Nan, take care."
"Take care!" Jiang Nan finally answered.
Doris smiled like a rose bursting into bloom, then vanished in a few swift movements.
Jiang Nan did not linger either. After searching the room for anything useful, he fled this place of trouble.
Henry's estate stood right beside the beach, and the servants had separate quarters. Afraid they would spoil his fun, Henry had sent them off to rest early, so what had happened in the room had not alerted anyone else.
Using the system's detection function, Jiang Nan easily avoided the guards around the perimeter and escaped the estate safely.
Even after escaping, Jiang Nan still felt uneasy. The carnage at the estate would be discovered first thing tomorrow morning. Once the Silver Wolf Society learned that their young master had been murdered, they would probably turn the entire island upside down. His immediate priority was to leave the island.
Doris had the plane they had arrived in. Now that they had parted ways, Jiang Nan had neither reason nor the nerve to go back and ask her for help. There was also an airport on the island, but the identification the Red Ribbon Army had prepared for him was still at the hotel. Without identification, he could not buy a ticket.
Clearly, he could no longer use that identity anyway. If he wanted to disappear, he had to sever every connection with the Red Ribbon Army, or Doris's story could easily fall apart once she returned. If the Red Ribbon Army tracked him through ticket purchase records, he would still be in danger.
Just then, Jiang Nan noticed a cargo ship moving slowly across the distant sea. It was one of the ships that traveled between South City and Papa Island, bringing supplies to the island.
Jiang Nan searched along the beach until he finally found the harbor where the cargo ships docked. Some workers were still unloading cargo. He hid in the shadows and watched for a while. When the emptied ship prepared to depart, he quietly slipped aboard while no one was looking and hid in an inconspicuous corner of the hold.
As Papa Island gradually shrank in Jiang Nan's sight, he finally felt the relief of having escaped with his life.
From here on, he was free as a bird in the boundless sky, free as a fish in the vast sea.
Dawn approached, and a pale glow spread over the sea. Looking at the blazing red sunrise, Jiang Nan felt a surge of heroic resolve and could not help reciting two lines: "One day, the great roc shall rise with the wind, soaring straight up for ninety thousand miles!"
The Silver Wolf Society, huh? Although the man behind it all is already dead, I didn't take that revenge myself. One day, I, Jiang Nan, will crush the Silver Wolf Society with my own hands.
(In reality, the forgetful Jiang Nan soon forgot all about the Silver Wolf Society.)
Meanwhile, in distant North City, Dr. Gero was analyzing his experimental results when someone rushed in to report, "Dr. Gero, Doris is back! It doesn't look good!"
Dr. Gero's heart began pounding, and he hurried after his subordinate to the infirmary.
Doris lay on a hospital bed in tattered clothes, her face covered in blood and her breathing unsteady. According to the landing pad guards, she had collapsed from exhaustion as soon as she stepped off the plane. She looked as though she had been through a grueling battle.
"Doris, can you hear me?" Dr. Gero shook her anxiously.
Doris opened her eyes with difficulty and struggled to grab Dr. Gero. She pressed a necklace into his hand and said weakly, "Doctor, Jiang Nan... he's dead..."
The words struck Dr. Gero like a bolt from the blue. His mouth fell open in disbelief, and he demanded, "Why is Jiang Nan dead? Who did it?"
Doris forced out a few halting words. "The... Silver... Wolf... Society!"
With that, Doris lost consciousness.
Filled with towering rage, Dr. Gero took the miniature camera disguised as a necklace back to the research institute's screening room and reviewed its footage.
Before long, Dr. Gero's furious roar rang out from the screening room. "Silver Wolf Society, I'll wipe you off the face of this earth!"
On the top floor of an imposing building in South City, a business negotiation was underway. At the head of the table sat a middle-aged man with short silver hair, dressed in a sharp suit and polished shoes. Though his attire was refined and gentlemanly, the savage scar on his face spoke of an extraordinary past.
Just then, a scholarly-looking middle-aged man hurried to the silver-haired man's side and whispered, "Chairman, something has happened to Henry!"
Several hours later, the silver-haired man arrived at the estate. As he looked at the bloody hole in Henry's chest, little grief showed on his face.
The man was Carlos, chairman of the Silver Wolf Society. Henry was his youngest son, and also his most useless. He spent his days indulging in drink and women, and his death did not sadden Carlos.
He merely felt humiliated. Someone had actually dared to brazenly murder his son here in the South City region!
"Chairman, we've found a lead!" The scholarly-looking middle-aged man approached to report. He was Misa, Carlos's strategist.
Misa said, "One of our men said Young Master Henry met a young woman the day before yesterday and planned to have a date with her last night. She was accompanied by a young man named Jiang Nan, a contestant in the World Martial Arts Tournament."
Carlos said viciously, "Tell our men to find them and bring me their heads. And what the hell were the servants doing? Their master died, and they didn't even know! Throw them all into the sea to feed the fish!"
Just then, Carlos's phone suddenly rang. He answered impatiently. "This is Carlos. What is it?"
"Am I speaking to the chairman of the Silver Wolf Society?" The unhurried voice on the other end infuriated Carlos.
"That's me!"
"I'm Adjutant Black of the Red Ribbon Army. I'm calling to inform you that your son crossed someone he shouldn't have. A friend of mine is very angry about it, so..." Adjutant Black deliberately left him hanging.
Realizing the caller meant trouble, Carlos's tone turned icy. "So what? Do you think the Silver Wolf Society scares that easily?"
Adjutant Black gave a gentlemanly smile. "You've misunderstood. I'm not trying to intimidate you. I'm notifying you that the Red Ribbon Army has taken note of this debt. We'll have a chance to meet again in the future."
Carlos laughed in fury and smashed his phone to pieces. Then, as though venting his anger, he kicked Henry's already cold body several times.
