Just then, Venus arrived at the Great Thunderclap Monastery and announced loudly, "By decree of the Great Heavenly Venerable, Buddha Maitreya is summoned to subdue the demonic dragon Ao Lie. Thus decreed."
Maitreya said, "I shall obey the Great Heavenly Venerable's decree. Venerable envoy, return first and report that I need a moment to prepare."
"Very well, but do not keep the Great Heavenly Venerable waiting, Buddha. The demonic dragon is still rampaging through the Heavenly Court," Venus said.
"Rest assured, venerable envoy. I will certainly capture the demonic dragon," Maitreya said.
Venus nodded, transformed into a golden streak, and sped back to the Heavenly Court to report.
Maitreya turned to Bodhisattva Guanyin. "Venerable Guanyin, you need not go. I shall go myself and persuade Ao Lie."
"Yes, Buddha," Bodhisattva Guanyin said.
Maitreya used Spatial Transposition and hurried to the Heavenly Court.
A moment later, he arrived at the battlefield where Ao Lie and Golden Spirit Holy Mother were fighting.
Maitreya unleashed his Lion's Roar. "Dipper Mother Goddess, Ao Lie, cease fighting! I have something to say."
Ao Lie and Dipper Mother Goddess leaped clear of the battle and looked toward Maitreya.
"Eastward Buddha, what do you have to say?" Ao Lie asked.
Maitreya smiled. "Ao Lie, you must have learned about the Journey to the West Calamity. Is that why you rebelled against the Heavenly Court?"
"Indeed. Once I settle accounts with the Jade Emperor, I'll settle accounts with you lot in the West. None of you will escape," Ao Lie said.
Maitreya smiled. "Ao Lie, the Journey to the West Calamity follows the inevitable course of the Heavenly Dao. Even with your current peak Quasi-Saint strength, you cannot defy heaven. Why don't we negotiate some terms instead?"
