After leaving the Shadow Pavilion, Chu Youning surveyed the bustling streets outside. Somehow, watching all that activity left her feeling a little out of sorts.
But she could not quite put her finger on what was wrong.
After wandering around in circles several times,
she unwittingly arrived at the former Drunken Spring House, where she and Chu Lange now planned to open a beauty salon.
The supervisor immediately came out to greet Chu Youning upon spotting her.
"Greetings, Your Highness. Have you come to inspect the renovations?"
"Yes, I came to take a look."
Since she was already there, Chu Youning went inside and looked around.
The former Drunken Spring House had now been remodeled into a square enclosing an open central courtyard. The private rooms on the second and third floors had all been torn out and replaced with compartmented shelving of varying heights.
The fourth floor had also been remodeled and rebuilt into the VIP rooms Chu Youning had designed.
"Your Highness, the renovations are nearly complete. Within half a month, we can hang the signboard and open for business."
"Good."
Chu Youning nodded, quite pleased with the shop the Ministry of Works had worked overtime to remodel.
Only after forming a rough plan did she slowly leave.
Afterward, Chu Youning went to a tavern for something to eat, then paid another visit to the Cloud Fragrance House.
But...
Nothing seemed to interest her much today.
And so,
