As the system wondered about this, it asked aloud, "Host, you don't seem very scared?"
Lu Xiaoxiao said, "This is my first time getting kidnapped in either of my lives! It feels kind of novel. You know, in my last life, I was so poor nobody even wanted to kidnap me!"
"But... but aren't you worried about the danger?"
"Oh, come on, I've still got you! If you, as a system, can't even guarantee your host's safety, what do I need you for?"

That seemed to make perfect sense, yet something about it felt off.
After thinking it over, the system reminded Lu Xiaoxiao, "That may be true, but protecting you costs points."
Lu Xiaoxiao instantly stopped smiling.
Although she still had points to spare, having someone constantly eyeing her wallet wherever she went was seriously annoying!
So she said solemnly, "037, you're being very inconsiderate. I can offer, but you can't ask."
The system froze. That line sounded familiar, as though it was another classic quote from a scumbag boyfriend.
But a moment later, Lu Xiaoxiao had already shifted her attention away from it and toward the kidnappers beside her, speaking in a conciliatory tone:
"Um... if you don't mind me asking, why are you kidnapping me? You two gentlemen seem polite and respectable. Surely there's no need for all this, right?"
"Well! If it's money you want, we can work something out. Cash or card, either is fine with me! If you're after me personally, though, I don't think that's a good idea.
