The two "kidnappers," who had been trying their best to make themselves inconspicuous, froze at her words, then hurried to explain:
"No, Eldest Miss! We didn't touch a single hair on her head!"
"That's right, Eldest Miss! Please don't accuse us of something we didn't do!"
Cui Anhe didn't believe them at all. She stamped her foot again and glared at the two men. "You're still making excuses! Then where did that wound come from? Don't tell me she fell and hurt herself!"
"Well... Eldest Miss, we don't know either!"
"Enough! If you don't tell me the truth, I'm docking your pay!!!"
At that, Lu Xiaoxiao couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.
No wonder the two "kidnappers" had looked so resigned in the car earlier. Their Eldest Miss Cui really did threaten to dock their pay at every turn. She certainly wasn't easy to work for.
When Lu Xiaoxiao laughed, all three turned to look at her.
Seeing the aggrieved looks on the "kidnappers'" faces as they struggled to defend themselves, Lu Xiaoxiao quickly composed herself and cleared her throat. "Well... you really have misunderstood them. I actually did fall and hurt myself."
-The wound on her forehead had actually come from her fall on the Deserted Island. Although Ji Yunhuai had cushioned her when she finally landed, the way down hadn't exactly been smooth, so a few bumps and scrapes had been inevitable!
The wound was tiny, though. If Cui Anhe hadn't suddenly mentioned it, Lu Xiaoxiao would have all but forgotten about it.
Cui Anhe gave Lu Xiaoxiao a couple of suspicious looks. Probably because she couldn't think of any reason for her to cover for the kidnappers, she finally believed her.
"Fine. As long as my people didn't do it. Don't you dare
