Shen Yangge had just caught his breath and was about to head downstairs when a hat dropped onto his head from above.
He froze for a few seconds, then heard Chu Xuanzhen's cold voice. "You are not to show your face outside the carriage or your room. That's an order."
Though Shen Yangge was grinding his teeth in anger, he forced out a "smile" and asked, "Why?"
[-Before, I couldn't show my face because I was sick. Now I'm fucking better, so why do I still have to wear this stupid veiled hat?]

Chu Xuanzhen fell briefly silent, then walked over to him as though nothing were amiss. As they headed downstairs, he reached out and caught Shen Yangge's wrist, leading him down at an unhurried pace.
Shen Yangge struggled a few times, but when he couldn't break free, he gave up.
Neither of them said a word throughout the meal.
Shen Yangge, in particular, sulked and stopped after a few perfunctory bites.
