"Bo Xi, what are you saying? Most people wish their parents would stop interfering. How can you be so ungrateful for your blessings?" Bo Father looked at him in exasperation.
"Do you know how much effort your grandfather puts into looking after you? How can you not understand that he means well?"
Bo Mother stepped forward to defend herself too. "Exactly! What do you mean, we don't care about you? I gave birth to you. How could I possibly not care?"

Lin Xingye really couldn't bear to listen anymore.
"You're shameless. Truly worthy of a distinguished family!" Lin Xingye had been a little worried that offending them would cause trouble for his parents, but feeling the warmth of Bo Xi's hand gripping his tightly, he knew he had nothing to fear.
"Blessings? Would you want these blessings if someone handed them to you? Didn't you fight with your dad back then because he was too controlling?" He snapped back without mercy, rolling his eyes as he berated them.
"You old bastard, who are you trying to make life difficult for? He's a normal human being, yet someone watches him every second, and he isn't even allowed to go where he wants. Why don't you try living like that yourselves?"
Lin Xingye truly hadn't expected Old Master Bo to be every bit as nasty as he looked.
Old Master Bo had never been spoken to like that by a younger person. His face turned red with anger, but he couldn't squeeze out a word for ages.
"A mother who gives birth but doesn't raise her child, a scumbag father who's been cheating for years, and an insanely controlling grandfather. Who could survive that?" Even Lin Xingye was shocked after saying it aloud.
