After Jian Ruonan left, Zi Azha ordered, "When the Fifth Miss comes, none of you are to appear without my permission!"
His subordinate replied, "Yes, Heir!"
"Light the Harmony Incense." Zi Azha took a pill from his sleeve and swallowed it.
He had taken the antidote to the Harmony Incense. Once the Fifth Miss fell under its influence, he would hold the reins.
"Heir, there is something I don't understand," his subordinate said.
Zi Azha said, "Speak."
The subordinate hesitated. "It feels like the Fifth Miss doesn't actually like you, Heir."
She had called the heir ugly and said he had a tiny dick. How could she possibly like him?
They had heard the Fifth Miss's inner voice too.
Though they didn't quite understand technical terms like vasectomy or kidney stones pressing on cranial nerves, their instincts told them those weren't compliments.
A flicker of displeasure crossed Zi Azha's face. "What do you know? This is called letting go to reel someone in."
Young girls were all like this. Once they fell in love, they would try every possible way to catch the other person's attention.
Enlightenment washed over the subordinate like sacred butter poured over his head. "Oh, oh! So she's letting go to reel you in! How shallow of me."
Zi Azha gave a crooked smirk. "Watch and learn."
The subordinate said, "Heir, there's one more thing I don't understand. The Fifth Miss ran off so fast, saying she needed to prepare. What is she preparing?"
"Preparing?" Zi Azha threw back his head and laughed. "What else could she be doing besides going back to her courtyard to dress up?!"
The subordinate said, "Heir, you're handsome and dashing. Your charm hasn't diminished one bit!"
The heir had always been the most handsome man in the Southern Pacification Kingdom.
