Still worried, Granny Wang asked:
"What did you do last night?"
Silly Girl pointed at the food on the table and said:
"Grandma, let me tell you, Stepmother was really nice to me. She said she would bring me here to eat delicious food.
She wasn't lying. There really was lots of delicious food here.
I ate a lot last night."
"Did anything else happen?"
"No! After I ate my fill, I got sleepy, so I put my head down on the table and fell asleep."
Only then did Granny Wang breathe a sigh of relief and say:
"Thank heavens nothing happened."
Seeing Granny Wang's reaction, Silly Girl asked in confusion:
"Grandma, what's wrong?"
Granny Wang waved her hands.
"Nothing, nothing."
"Grandma, there's still so much delicious food here. Sit down and have some too."
Everyone thought, At a time like this, she's still thinking about food? She really is a fool.
Granny Wang shook her head.
"I'm not eating.
If nothing happened, let's hurry home."
"All right. Let me find something to pack up this food and take it with us first."
"There's no need. Let's hurry and leave."
"No, there's so much delicious food. I have to take it."
No matter how Granny Wang tried to persuade her, it was useless. Silly Girl insisted on taking all the food left on the table.
Everyone watched Silly Girl helplessly.
What puzzled them even more was that they had been here for a while, yet they still hadn't seen the widower.
Where was he?
What exactly had happened last night?
How had Silly Girl come out unscathed?
Silly Girl finally found a basket. She brought it over and put all the leftover food inside.
Once Silly Girl had finished, Granny Wang said:
"Let's go."
As though she had remembered something,
