By the time Lin Jingchen came rushing over, Bai Chen lay on the ground at death's door, his head and body soaked in a pool of blood. It was a horrifying sight.
Blood saturated the ground.
"Bai Chen!!" Lin Jingchen's heart seemed to stop. His voice trembled as he shouted and raced toward him.
Lin Jingchen helped Bai Chen up and gently settled him against his shoulder. At a loss, he stared at Bai Chen's bloodless face, his mind completely blank.

He had almost lost him.
He didn't even dare imagine how Bai Chen had survived in this dangerous place for more than twenty days.

Lin Jingchen suddenly hugged Bai Chen. Tears of joy at finding him again and remorse fell onto Bai Chen's cheeks. In a low, slightly hoarse voice, he murmured, "I'm taking you back right now. Just hold on."
Lin Jingchen scooped Bai Chen into his arms, adjusting his position so he wouldn't touch his wounds.
