That night, Lin Jingchen held him in his arms and spoke softly into his ear. His tone was as gentle as ever, but Bai Chen could still hear the care and tenderness in it.
As he listened, Bai Chen curled wearily into Lin Jingchen's arms and closed his eyes.

The next morning, Bai Chen woke in Lin Jingchen's arms.
Lin Jingchen had kept watch over Bai Chen's movements all night, waking at the slightest stir.
