The two women's discussion did not distract Luo Mang. He narrowed his eyes as he examined the little snake, feeling as though he could make out someone's figure reflected in its eyes.

"Orochimaru?"

He was actually still alive. It was a little hard to believe, but he certainly lived up to his reputation as the hardest man to kill.

Was his appearance here a coincidence, or...?

Under normal circumstances, if Orochimaru wanted somewhere to stay, the Sand Village would be the most logical choice. Why?

Because the Sand Village's Kage had just died, and an upheaval involving infiltrators had followed. Some factions had only recently been purged. Even if the village was not beset by trouble both inside and out, it was at least short on powerful fighters, with those it did have away on assignments. Hiding there would be easy.

Luo Mang recalled the little stream Kurotsuchi had taken him to a long time ago. He had not returned since. Back then, he had speculated that Orochimaru might have come here to conduct some sort of experiment.

But it had seemed too far-fetched, so Luo Mang had only given the idea a passing thought before dismissing it.

Now, though, that guess seemed pretty accurate.

The snake flicked out its long tongue, then spat out a letter along with it, drenched in saliva.

Oh, come on.

At the sight, Luo Mang's face turned green. It was disgusting enough to make his stomach churn.

As expected of the man whose routine was a snake spitting out a snake, a snake spitting him out, and him spitting out a sword. Saliva passed down the line-utterly revolting.
