Ch. 461You're finally not a total blockhead
Plot points and events
- Zhou Fan and Xia Qingran travel through the increasingly hostile, frozen Ice Spirit Secret Grounds toward Ice Spirit Mountain. Zhou worries that the Xiaoyang Fruit suppressing Qingran’s ice spirit body could cause problems, though she says the cold feels comfortable to her.
- They reach Ice Spirit Mountain, a deep-blue peak saturated with cold spiritual energy. Qingran explains that the Qin Family’s younger generation has stopped cultivating ice spirit bodies because their immense power comes with dangerous, prolonged suffering.
- Before they can approach the mountain, a five-star, fourth-tier Ice Spirit Snow Ape emerges. Qingran explains that the area’s beasts have returned after the Qin Family stopped clearing the grounds.
- Zhou confirms that fighting will not trigger an avalanche, then attacks. His fire techniques injure the ape but do not defeat it; he finishes it instantly with Dust Release, disintegrating it.
Character developments and interactions
- Zhou shows concern for Qingran’s safety and offers to shield her from the wind. She teases him for finally learning to care about girls, calling him a former “blockhead.”
- Qingran trusts Zhou’s judgment, stopping immediately when he warns that something is approaching. She also reassures him about the danger of an avalanche.
- Qingran is astonished by Zhou’s previously unseen Dust Release and asks what kind of power it is, impressed by its overwhelming strength.
