Still, their friends ought to have an Earth Scroll. Surely all four of their squads couldn't have Heaven Scrolls?
Naruto tossed the scroll into his ninja tool pouch and reached out with his senses. The closest group was Team 10's Ino-Shika-Cho trio.
They seemed to be in the middle of a fight as well.
"Let's go. I've located Shikamaru and the others. They're fighting someone."
Without further delay, the three hurried in the direction Naruto had sensed. Their movements were light and swift, like three shadows flitting through the woods, avoiding routes and noises that might expose their whereabouts whenever possible.
Following Naruto's senses and the faint sounds of combat, Team 7 quietly approached the battlefield and found the following scene before them.
A battle was underway in a relatively open clearing, but Konoha's side already had the situation firmly under control.
Shikamaru crouched on a thick branch of a large tree, his brow slightly furrowed but his gaze focused.
His hands held a steady hand seal. From his position, a long, narrow, flexible black shadow wound down the trunk, passed through the fallen leaves and bushes, and connected precisely to the feet of an Amegakure ninja in the center of the clearing.
Ino was nowhere in sight. She had probably hidden herself to use the Mind Body Switch Technique.
In the middle of the clearing, Choji Akimichi had activated his Partial Expansion Jutsu and was fighting Rain Ninja A alongside Rain Ninja C.
Rain Ninja C was presumably under the control of Ino, who was hiding nearby.
Rain Ninja B, controlled by Shikamaru, could only play the "useless husband" and helplessly watch his teammates get taken out.
