Hearing Mifune's request, Yui froze for a moment, then shook her head speechlessly. "Let's forget about that!"
Mifune felt a little awkward too. He scratched his head and said sheepishly, "Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you..."
Recalling everything that had happened that night, he sighed helplessly.
Then he shook his head. "Miss Yui, I've delivered Master Iinaka's letter to you."
"With that done, I'll be going. If you need help with anything, please come find me."
He spoke listlessly, then trudged out of the inn.
He was in a terrible mood now and wanted to go back and rest before deciding what to do next.
After watching Mifune leave the inn, Yui turned to Nai Hyuga beside her in puzzlement.
Nai Hyuga had her head lowered and was trying out one hand seal after another.
Sensing someone's gaze on her, Nai Hyuga looked up in confusion.
When she realized it was Yui, she paused and asked quietly, "Yui, what's wrong?"
Yui stared at Nai Hyuga for a long while before shaking her head. "Nothing. Come on, let's go back to our room!"
She rose, puzzled. Had there been a hint of fear on Mifune's face when he looked at Nai Hyuga earlier?
Why was that? With that question lingering in her mind, she headed up the stairs.
Nai Hyuga took a deep breath, then followed her.
Back in their room, Yui quickly changed clothes. Putting the earlier incident out of her mind, she took out Master Iinaka's envelope.
Meanwhile, Nai Hyuga sat nearby and continued studying Ninjutsu.
Curious, Yui slowly opened the envelope and read its contents.
