"Where do you think you're running?"
Black Bear's fury surged. After a brief pause in its sonic assault, it inhaled again, opened its mouth, and unleashed an even stronger sonic attack.
"Die!"
"Roar..."
This sonic attack was even stronger than the last, almost powerful enough to take physical form.
"Ugh." The enormous wave of sound suddenly engulfed Yui, making every bone in her body feel as though it would fall apart. Enduring the agony, she leaped into the air, then vanished beneath the water with a splash.
"Roar! Roar..."
Even underwater, however, the power of the sonic attack was not to be underestimated.
Water churned and surged under the powerful sonic waves, but soon, the attack shifted elsewhere, and the surface grew calm again.
A minute passed before Black Bear seemed to realize something. It stopped attacking and raised its head, looking around in confusion.
"Where... where did she go?" It stretched its neck, its sensitive nose sniffing furiously... yet the familiar scent was nowhere to be found. "Hiss, hiss, hiss..."
"Gone... gone... damn it, where the hell did you run off to?" Black Bear raged helplessly, slamming its paws against the ground and leaving enormous craters.
Hiding underwater, Yui watched Black Bear lose track of its target and considered what she had seen. Looks like I guessed right. This bear really does rely on scent to find its way.
The water blocked her scent, giving her a chance to rest.
She could surmise that the bear's sense of smell was exceptionally keen. It could probably detect even the faintest unusual scent.
Now that I know its weakness, this should be easy. All I have to do is disrupt its sense of smell. Then, as long as I keep quiet, I can beat it easily.
