"Wh... what's happening..." Xiao You stared at its body in terror. As countless specks of light floated up, its body slowly turned transparent.
At a loss, it looked toward Yui and opened its mouth to say something, only to find that no sound would come out. Nothing could be more terrifying than watching its own body slowly dissolve.
As time passed, its vision grew increasingly blurred, and its thoughts gradually became muddled, as though it were about to fall asleep.
It wanted to cry out in terror, but everything happened too quickly. Like dust scattered by the wind, its body rapidly vanished without a trace.
Yui watched in shock. For a moment, she stood frozen, doing nothing as Xiao You's body turned transparent, then dissolved into specks of light and disappeared before her eyes.
Only when its figure had completely vanished did Yui snap out of her daze. "Wh... what happened..."
She was at a loss. Had Xiao You... just disappeared right in front of her?
Looking at her empty palm, she curled her fingers slightly, but a hollow feeling rose in her heart. "Xiao You..."
Yui called softly, but no answer came. Xiao You really had vanished into thin air before her eyes, leaving not even a trace of its presence, as though it had never been there.
She looked around. Xiao You really had disappeared just now; there was no sign of it anywhere nearby.
"What on earth happened... where's... Xiao You?"
Yui stood rooted to the spot, unable to understand why something like this had happened. Xiao You had vanished so quickly, turning into scattered specks of light in the blink of an eye, that she had no time to react.
Instinctively, she entertained a mistaken notion: could everything that had just happened have been a genjutsu?
