Background / History
Watching the first quiz
When the Sky Screen selected Tang Ya, Bei Bei seized her hand and tried to prevent her departure. He feared the unknown space might be dangerous, but the seven-colored heavenly light carried her away despite his resistance 2.
Remaining at Shrek Academy with Mu En, he watched the first quiz unfold. He accepted the revelation that Tang San had transmigrated from another world because it was consistent with historical records preserved by Shrek Academy 5 6. After witnessing an ordinary boy receive innate full soul power, Bei Bei began to welcome the Sky Screen’s possibilities. He hoped its rewards could improve Tang Ya’s talent and help her pursue revenge without losing herself to hatred 8.
Tang Ya and Huo Yuhao’s subsequent discussion of taking Tang San’s divine positions mortified him, particularly because Mu En was watching beside him 11.
Selection and reunion
Bei Bei was chosen among the twenty participants in the second selection batch. He promised to use a reward opportunity to heal Mu En’s injuries, but Mu En urged him to prioritize the younger generation, Shrek Academy, and the Tang Sect. Mu En also warned him against accepting the popular claim that Wang Dong was Tang San 13.
Upon entering the Sky Screen Space, Bei Bei immediately reunited with Tang Ya and embraced her. He later confirmed to Huo Yuhao that the entire continent could watch their actions. To avoid broadcasting their next discussion aloud, he passed written notes explaining that Wang Dong was the suspected ancestor and relaying Mu En’s reasons for doubting the identification 14 15.
Revelations about the Tang Sect
During the second question, Bei Bei noticed troubling details in the earlier footage: Tang San avoided fighting his pursuers and did not use his powerful hidden weapon against them. Nevertheless, his reverence for Tang San led him to reject the possibility that the founder had stolen the secret arts 18.
When the answer confirmed the theft, Bei Bei comforted the distraught Tang Ya. He suggested that Tang San might have had reasons and reminded her of his role in saving the continent. He and Huo Yuhao continued supporting her when subsequent footage showed the theft directly and the crowd condemned the Tang Sect 20 23.
Personality
Bei Bei is protective and emotionally attentive toward Tang Ya. His concern extends beyond her immediate safety: he understands her desire for revenge and fears that hatred could consume her. His devotion to Mu En is similarly personal, prompting him to offer a potential reward toward healing his great-great-grandfather rather than strengthening himself 2 8 13.
He is affectionate and teasing within his close circle, openly embracing Tang Ya and bantering with Huo Yuhao. Tang Ya’s threat to stop speaking to him is enough to make him negotiate over an embarrassing wager 14 17.
His judgment combines careful observation with inherited reverence. He notices evidence that challenges Tang San’s reputation, but initially allows the founder’s heroic image to outweigh those doubts. He is more receptive when Mu En challenges the assumptions surrounding Wang Dong’s identity 13 18.
