"That's enough."
Veylin's voice was soft, yet everyone who heard it felt more assured.
The glow of [Earth Bastion] was fading, and the Giant Crocodile Chief had yet to fully recover from the sonic shock.
"Sarah," Veylin said without turning his head, "use your children to pin it and those guards right where they are."
The Insect Swarm Queen sensed the resolve in Veylin's thoughts and silently obeyed. The movements of over a hundred Baldur Dung Beetles were the best answer.
They no longer harassed it at random. Instead, they divided into combat units of ten, surging toward the Giant Crocodile Chief from every direction like moving clusters of black reefs.
They did not attack its weak points. They merely scrambled madly onto the crocodiles' limbs and tails, wedging their mouthparts and horns firmly into the gaps between their scales.
The Giant Crocodile Chief received special attention. It rolled like a creature possessed, each thrash swatting several beetles into pulp like flies, sending shells and bodily fluids splattering everywhere.
But the gaps were filled in an instant. With their own bodies and weight, the insects forced an ever-tightening set of shackles onto the beast.
"Knights, finish off the guards!" Veylin's tone was unusually grating. "You're all third-level knights. Stop making such a miserable showing. Are all you Rockbreakers useless?"
The four remaining knights had long been seething. Roaring, they lunged at the five elite giant crocodiles entangled by the beetles.
Veylin's fingers drew two alchemical potions from his pocket and sent them flying in a triangular formation.
Crack! Crack!
The potion bottles shattered near the three foremost elite giant crocodiles. Two clouds of mist, one black and one purple, attached themselves to the creatures as though alive.

An elite giant crocodile was about to pounce on
