Nie Yun uncovered the Divine Realm Origin and learned how the Heavenly Dao planned to survive the coming cataclysm. After seizing part of the Origin, he gathered an army of Great Emperors, but the Heavenly Dao appeared in the form of a sacrificed woman and confronted him.

• Nie Yun returned to the Qing Shan Tribe, protected Wan'er from the Red River Domain, and learned that Di Xuan was searching for women with pure souls.
• Nie Yun reunited with his family, then traced Di Xuan's trail to an island of altars and suspected that she meant to sacrifice the women to the Heavenly Dao.
• Xuanyuan the Great Emperor warned Nie Yun of hidden old monsters and proposed using the Xuanyuan Sword as bait, while Di Xuan revealed that she had become the Heavenly Dao's agent and attacked him.
• Great Emperor Shennong revealed that the Six Paths came from the Divine Realm Origin and that Nie Yun could weaken the Heavenly Dao by devouring what remained of it.
• Nie Yun and Tantai Lingyue absorbed the Origin as Di Xuan attacked and the Heavenly Dao unleashed Emperor Beasts across the Divine Realm.
• Nie Yun killed the Great Emperors who refused to resist, forced the ancient powerhouses to join his fight, and destroyed the Floating World Pagoda.
• Nie Yun turned hundreds of Heavenly Dao experts into Great Emperors, and Tantai Lingyue returned with about twenty percent of the Origin and a possible plan to defeat the Heavenly Dao.
• As the Heavenly Dao attacked, Nie Tong recognized its female vessel as one of Di Xuan's sacrificed captives, and the woman told Nie Yun he had lost his chance to surrender.
