Imperial origins and life in Luoyun Village

Born Xu Xingling, she was a member of the Sun Moon Empire’s imperial family. A palace coup placed her Third Uncle on the throne and destroyed the families of relatives close to the former emperor. Her father, Xu Zheng, escaped with her and changed her surname to her mother’s, giving her the name Huo Xingling 2 28.

Xu Zheng was a Level 9 Soul Engineer. To secure his daughter’s safety after fleeing to the Star Luo Empire, he sacrificed his cultivation and surrendered his technical knowledge. Xingling later said that he died of illness five years before her reunion with He Caitou and that she buried him herself in a peaceful place 2 28.

In Luoyun Village, she lived as an apparently mute orphan, sold vegetables, and received care from village chief Old Zhang. After six years of surveillance, Dai Hao ordered the watchers withdrawn because their reports portrayed her as having little cultivation potential.
